Iontophoresis with comfort

Comfortable posture - comfortable therapy

If you look closely at pictures of hand treatments with iontophoresis, you may notice a few details: the posture of the model, the position of the elbows, and the angle of the hands usually don't look particularly comfortable.

Sometimes, the pictures unintentionally exaggerate the appearance of discomfort. Often, the model is made to stand behind a table, sometimes in a slightly hunched position. The picture is then cropped to simulate the effect that the model is actually sitting down. These pictures are far removed from reality. No one would conduct an iontophoresis treatment in such a stilted and uncomfortable manner ... or with such a painful smile on their face.

So what does a comfortable treatment session really look like?

A comfortable hand treatment

With the comfort tubs, the water is automatically reduced to a sensible level.

For the hand treatment: Does your body produce sweat in parts of your hands or wrists that lie above the surface of the treatment water?

One useful trick to increase the iontophoresis effect is to wear cropped cotton gloves during the treatment. Additionally, a wet towel may be placed over the larger treatment areas to conduct the electricity into the affected body parts.

However, these steps are often unnecessary: the effect of the current is not reduced to the body parts that are submerged in the water. The current travels easily into the areas above the waterline as well.

Controlling the temperature of the treatment tubs

Electrodes and treatment trays can be warmed up before the treatment. This means that your treatment water will be pleasantly balmy during the sessions. Choose treatment tubs that are thick, heavy, and insulated against cold surfaces through an air cushion. Together with weighty metal electrodes, they keep the treatment water nicely warm for a prolonged period of time. When using relatively little water, the body warmth supplies another additional source of heat. The treatment tubs are big enough to fit even large hands or feet, though their sensible size reduces the water surface to a minimum.

All you need: tub, electrodes, grids plus 100-200 ml of warm water - just enough to cover the grids, not more.

After pre-warming the tubs and the electrodes on the heater, your equipment is immediately at a nice and toasty temperature. We conducted a trial treatment in the middle of winter (a video will follow!), and at the end of the 15-minute treatment the water was still a pleasant 34° Celsius!

A thick newspaper spread out under the tubs prevents the water from cooling too fast, especially in winter!

On the topic of hygiene and boiling water: tubs should withstand also boiling water without any problems.

Use Comfort tubs that are quite heavy.

The advantage of the heavy weight is that it preserves the warmth of the tubs and the electrodes and creates a pleasant treatment temperature even in cooler seasons.

The only disadvantage: due to the weight of the material, this set is only moderately suited for travelling. When taking your iontophoresis device on holiday, we suggest you use an iontophoresis travel kit.

What else is needed?

Tip: the size of the comfort tubs matches our metal electrodes precisely.

You can purchase these electrodes in two different materials: aluminium or stainless steel.

Matching treatment towels or grids are included in the set.

We provide two matching towels that are suitable for hot laundry.

These towels can be used to cover individual body parts during the treatment. For instance, you can use them to cover the back of the feet during a foot treatment to protect the skin against cold air drafts and keep the water warm.

After the treatment, you can dry your feet or hands with the towels and place them into the tubs. The towels will then absorb the water completely. In this way, the tubs can be easily carried around without spilling any water, despite their flat design.
